The latest trend among people who are new to facing viruses in this every complicated world is that,
when “search & destroy” fails or feel that their antivirus software is inferior they will go

“O!@#%$^#!!! I GOT….A VIRUS!!!! ONE SOLUTION!! REFORMAT!!!!”

Especially when it comes to small time MSN viruses like,

HEY? is that you?
IamMrReformat wants to send you “Hahaha!now_you_have_to_reformat.jpg.”

Now, this internet myth is not true. In fact, reformat just harms your disk.
#1: Come on! Unless is a super virus like WormBuster or whatever,
Reformat is a stupid waste of time AND resources
#2: It wipes out your whole disk, do you want to transfer ALL your things to either DVD
or Harddisk just because of a “Photoalbum” virus
#3: What a waste. Now you have to install everything back

CONCULSION
If you reformat because of these viruses,

I have something to say.

The (MSN or whatever) Virus is not a virus anymore. YOU ARE THE VIRUS WHICH WIPES OUT YOUR WHOLE COM!!!!!

Now, don’t be mistaken. I am not trying to laugh at all these people. If you have already done so, learn from this post and not it again.

SOLUTIONS!
Now, you want to know how to get the solutions eh,

#1: Buy an antivirus.
I tell you what. If you think antivirus are so expensive, Think again!
Antivirus can cost as less as $30 for one year.
Think about it, for those of you who in Singapore, 15 plates of Chicken Rice = One Year of Norton Antivirus 2008 (Read my previous posts for the review of Norton)

#2: Get A FREE ONE
However, as i always say, you get every you pay(If you can get a good source!)
That being said, unless you are a super miser who wants to save $30 to protect your $1000~$2000 Computer,
Go ahead! Get a free one.

Im not critizing free software. But is good if you are still unsure of whether to get a antivirus.

#3: Source for solutions!
This is good if you know what you are doing. Be prepared, some things my even ask you to change your core registry

#4: Only applies if you have a antivirus.
If you are IT Smart, You can even delete the virus yourself if your antivirus doesnt do a clean job(Although it often does nowadays.)
The Antivirus locates the virus, YOU, smash the virus.

With that said, good luck and don’t use reformating unless it is a super huge virus.

Looks like the MRT is getting stricter.

In Mr Brown’s post , he posted two articles that was featured on the straits times forums. To save you the trouble, here it is.

Even in bags?

From the Straits Times forum today (17 December 2007):

Allow folded bikes on buses and trains MY 15-YEAR-OLD nephew has been an avid BMX stunt cyclist for more than a year.

He meets his friends about three times a week at the Youth Park in Somerset Road.

This is a healthy and exciting sport for youngsters like him and we applaud the efforts by the Ministry of Community Development, Youth & Sports and the National Youth Council to provide a place for extreme sports for bikers and skaters since 2004.

However, there is an important issue regarding transport for these cyclists which I would like the authorities to address.

My nephew has told me that in the past few months, he and his friends have been stopped many times by officers at MRT stations and told not to take their bicycles onto the train.

Please note that these bikes have been dismantled and folded neatly into special BMX bags which the bikers carry on their shoulders. The bags have clear BMX logos to indicate a bicycle inside.

When they explained they were only carrying bicycles to the Youth Park at Somerset, they were asked to leave the MRT station and find another means of transport. They were even threatened with a fine if they continued to take their bikes on the train.

Getting on the bus has also been a problem for these youngsters. Bus drivers have asked them rudely what they were carrying in their big black bags. Some have asked them to leave the bus.

So it seems the only means of public transport for this group of bikers is by taxi.

This does not make sense, as the Youth Park is located in the heart of town in Orchard Road next to Somerset MRT station. In fact, this is what my nephew has done for the past few months, spending a lot of money simply to pursue the sport he loves.

Ng Lai Yien (Ms)

THIS IS THE REPLY FROM THE MRT.

Why bicycles are not allowed on trains ST Forum, 14 July 2006

I REFER to the letters, “Allow bikes in last cabin of MRT train” by Nuryusman Ibrahim (ST, June 27), “Provide more MRT trains and let bikes on-board” by Jenson Chen Zhirong (ST Online, June 30), “Allow bikes in last cabin of MRT” by Andy Ab Samad (ST Online, July 5), “Bikes in trains could lead to problems” by Heng Cho Choon (ST Online, July 5) and “Disciplinary action needed on some MRT commuters” by Paul Chan Poh Hoi (ST Online, July 7).

Currently, only foldable bicycles are allowed on board our trains. Irrespective of a suggested fare charge, standard bicycles, being fairly large, pose problems of space as well as safety, particularly when the train is crowded.

In addition, there are other concerns, such as the transportation of bicycles from the concourse, through the fare gates and up onto the platform, the soiling of station and train premises due to mud, grime or grease from bicycle wheels, as well as the consideration of other commuters. With regard to the suggestion of having a dedicated train car for bicycles, we would like to share that during peak hours resources are already fully deployed to run trains at a regular frequency to meet demand. Hence, designating special train cars to cater to a specific group of commuters will affect train capacity and schedules.

On train service frequencies during peak hours, these are planned and reviewed after careful consideration of travel demand and the need to optimise train operations and efficiency. Over the last two years, we have increased train service frequencies during peak and off-peak hours for both the East-West and North-South lines. In particular, during peak hours, our train service frequencies range between two and six minutes. This takes into account the need to maintain a minimum distance between trains.

Regarding the perception of congestion, we would like to share that SMRT is ranked among the top five, with one of the lowest densities of passengers on our trains when benchmarked against 15 of the world’s top metro operators from major cities. During peak hours, we have an average of four passengers per square metre, as compared to six for metros located in other densely populated cities.

Notwithstanding this, our MRT network is designed to transport a large number of commuters, hence due consideration must be given to the safety and needs of other commuters when discussing the issue of allowing bicycles on trains. As for the issue of eating, drinking and littering in the trains, we take a serious view of commuters who flout the rules in our system and we do deploy staff to be on the lookout.

When our staff conduct random checks and observe passengers eating, drinking or littering in the trains, they will advise them not to do so. Commuters are liable for a fine of up to $500, and up to $5,000 for littering under the Rapid Transit Systems Regulations. Last year, 137 commuters were fined for consuming food or drinks in the SMRT system. From January to June this year, 89 people were fined.

We would like to remind commuters to help keep the SMRT system clean, and not to obstruct the doorways and passageways in the trains by sitting on the floor. As it is not possible for our staff to conduct checks at stations and in trains at all times, commuters are advised to report rule breakers and inconsiderate commuters to our station staff.

We thank the writers for their feedback.

Dawn Low (Ms)
Senior Manager, Corporate Marketing and Communications
SMRT
Corporation Ltd

Contradicting sentences.

Please note that these bikes have been dismantled and folded neatly into special BMX bags which the bikers carry on their shoulders. The bags have clear BMX logos to indicate a bicycle inside by passenger.

Currently, only foldable bicycles are allowed on board our trains. Irrespective of a suggested fare charge, standard bicycles, being fairly large, pose problems of space as well as safety, particularly when the train is crowded by MRT
Didn’t you see? Miss MRT? or are you…….

dismantled and folded neatly into special BMX bags

Urm……. Hey, im not a transport staff, but is clear that this is folded.

And by the way, why not ban bulky items like Prams wheelchairs luggages and PCs from Sim lim square then?

My comment.

????? What does this got to do with bikes?

Hi, im sure many of you run a norton antivirus software. Right?

For those fo you who have not, or rather used it before and find that it sucks, everything has changed.

I have been using norton antivirus since 2000

However, Norton Antivirus 2000 was not that advanced then. The only thing they give is a full system scan and a norton autovirus remover which does not even catch some viruses entering into my computer.

Fortunately, Norton worked it all out and added features year by year. and by late 2005(2006 edition) The system was already becoming better and better with every year to come.

PRESENTING: NORTON ANTIVIRUS 2008
New features:

Improved performance delivers faster scans

One click access to expert support

Works quietly in the background.

Network mapping provides a view of your home network.

For those of you who never used Norton before, here are the existing features.

Detects and removes spyware and viruses

Blocks spyware and worms automatically

Anti-virus protection for email and instant messaging

Prevents virus-infected emails from spreading

Rootkit detection finds and removes hidden threats

Includes protection updates and new product features as available throughout the renewable service period

1) Improved performance delivers faster scans

Not only this is true, but norton scanning and removal of virus has vastly improve since the 2007 version.

2) Network mapping provides a view of your home network.

The network is excellent! You can set which computer to block and which computer to ‘trust’

You can also check for intruders too. LOL

3)

This ROCKS man. I loved the manga, but then when the Taiwanese Drama came out last year, I was freaking dissapointed.

But in the year 2007, something brightened my life. That is. HANA KIMI JAPANESE VERSION =D

This version is filled with more beautiful people and with the same unique language as the manga did. The budget for this version is obviously better, advisory from the manga artist himself.

Plot:

While living in the U.S., Mizuki Ashiya was chased by a gang of robbers and Sano saved her. In the process, the robbers injured Sano using a knife. A few years later, Mizuki decides to chase Sano and enrolls in Osaka High, the all boys’ school that Izumi attends in Japan. With the help of her best friend, she cuts her hair and disguises herself to remain near her idol. As she settles in, an accident reveals her identity to Hokuto Umeda, the school doctor, and Izumi Sano. Izumi hides his knowledge of Mizuki’s gender and tries to help her keep her secret, though it sure isn’t easy as many situations land Mizuki in compromising positions.

CHARACTERS

The name is already on the picture.(LOL)

<strike>Ashiya Mizuki </strike>If you haven found out, good luck to you.

Horikita Maki as Ashiya Mizuki

She is the main protagonist She pretends to be a boy in order to enroll into Osaka Gakuen to get closer with Sano. She loves sweet food and she is a very fast runner, initially causing all the three dorms in Osaka High to desperately recruit her. Mizuki falls in love with Sano, but is unable to tell him because she thinks that he doesn’t know that she’s a girl. But what she doesn’t know is that he does know that she’s a girl and he’s in love with her as well. She amusingly wants to be a dog trainer and is very close to Sano’s dog, Yuujiro.

Oguri Shun as Sano Izumi

The guy that Mizuki Ashiya likes and an excellent high jumper. He finds out that Mizuki is a girl early in the series, but does not tell anyone else and actually becomes very protective of her secret.

Sano falls in love with Mizuki, but cannot tell her because Mizuki thinks that if Sano found out her secret, she would have to leave.

Ikuta Toma as Nakatsu Shuichi

He likes Mizuki, but doesn’t know that she is really a girl, and some of his classmates believe that he is gay due to that fact. Nakatsu also seems to have come to terms with that fact. As Umeda says,”…he’s only attracted to her feminine side,” meaning that Nakatsu is responding as any teenage male would to being around a female, although it would appear he is a bit more excitable than his classmates as none of them seem to be affected by Mizuki– or they simply hide it better. At times, he is very jealous of Sano because of how close he is to Mizuki. He entered the school with a football (soccer) scholarship, and is very good at it. Originally from Osaka (the city, which is different from the school and spelled with different kanji), he has a thick Kansai accent and frequently uses the Kansai dialect. He has bleached blonde hair.

MORE CHARACTERS COMING SOON!

えと。。。。ケルビンさん。静岡はなに？　どこですか？　（urm….KeLW-san. What is Shizuoka? Where is it?)

Shizuoka is a Prefecture (What we call as ‘States’. ) in Japan.

Shizuoka is the place where to renowed Mt Fuji is.

Here is the (English)Link–> http://www.pref.shizuoka.jp/a_foreign/english/index.html

日本語のページ　－－＞　http://www.pref.shizuoka.jp

ケルビンさん！！！～～　静岡はなにを特別か。。。？　（KeLW-SAN!!! What is special about Shizuoka?)

Glad you asked.(I think im asking myself. haha.)

Shizuoka has claimed many records, both domestic (In Japan) and worldwide.

In Isetan, I took brocheres about how many records Shizuoka has.(They have so many records, is not enough to put in 4 pages. But is more colourful then the website ones.)

For more infomation, pls go to their “Shizuoka, top in Japan” List.

Heres the (English)link–> http://www.pref.shizuoka.jp/a_foreign/english/no1/index.html

ね。。。。。。ケルビンさん。あなたはなにをかく？　（So. KeLW-san. What did you buy?)

すおですか。Well. I bought one Green tea(Sencha) Which is specially made to put inside cold water and Brown Rice Sencha (Genmai Sencha).

Although Sencha is not really much of a high standard, but is quality is excellent.!

Also, I bought some Wasabi.

I realized that the Wasabi we eat in Singapore is commonly horse raddish and not Wasabi itself. The plant have to be grated.

Wasabi only grows on the foot of the mountain, where clean and fresh natural water is found.

Putting Pictures later. Pls bear with it!!

This is a rant on the stupid logic of dubs.

WHAT IS DUBS?

dubbing or looping is the process of recording or replacing voices for a motion picture. The term is most commonly used in reference to voices recorded that do not belong to the original actors and speak in a different language than the actor is speaking. “Dubbing” can also be used to describe the process of re-recording lines by the actor who originally spoke them. This process is technically known as automated dialogue replacement, or ADR.

WHY DO I HATE IT?

1) Orginal Tone intended by the directors of the flim is ruined.

WTF? Am i right? Look at this. If you dub a flim, for example, the flim is in Cantonese and some @ss dub it, the orginal taste of the flim might not be there. AND WHAT FOR DIRECTORS WANT TO SPEND SO MUCH MONEY ON THE ACTORS FOR THEIR VOICES? WTF.

2) Give the staff who created the flim some credit.

To be, dubbing is like, stealing somebodies voice, and claim that it is yours. This is ridulious isn’t it? Im appalled that while people are cracking down on piracy, they don’t seem to care whether dubbing is “overwriting” the orginal people.

3) CAN’T YOU SEE THAT DUBBING MAKES THE FLIM MORE EXPENSIVE?

That applies especially to the china dubbers. WTF you want to make the flim more expensive by employing freaking dubbers? Is the DRAMA a slient drama? Can’t you just stick to your subtitles and not go overboard?

Existing negative influence on dubbing

My classmates were talking about full metal achemist. Then when they said about a guy or sth, they said some chinese name, which i cant comprehend. Haix. Since i cant even recall, let me give you a good example.

Boy X: Hey, you know Tian Zhong (田中(Tanaka)) Won the battle of Mian Jiang (勉強（benkyou）)?

(Chinese meaning. You know that Tian Zhong won the battle of Struggling?)

BUT IN JAPANESE, THIS IS WHAT THEY MEAN

(Japanese : You know that Tanaka won the battle of studying?)

wow~~~ I cant believe it!

Yea!!!! Is time to visit my favourite restaurant again!! My brother’s birthday!!

It was going fine until we reached the place. The place is EXTREMELY full!

Saddened, My family waited there. I didn’t. I went to the East Coast beach to practice Photography.

I ended up taking 14 shots. But i feel that only a few are actually good. Here are my pictures.~~

Being such an unfortunate person, I actually had a headache. I went to the nearby BK to sleep. (Ok, that sightly worked)

OK! then i went back. The queue was still !#$% long. Then I somewhat convinced my brother and my dad to go. My mum insisted to wait. I find it weird. I thought they would call us when it was our turn? We went to the arcade and played a few racing games.

AND GUESS WHAT? We went to the Waruku comepetitor, A korean BBQ place

[Thanks to my dad, who wanted to "bypass" the place to go to Waruku] (YOU SHOULD HAVE SEEN HOW IT LOOKED LIKE. OMG)

The place is what i describe as [An unsuitable human habitiat.] Smoke engulfed the place. We could almost feel the lack of oxygen. When we ran out of the place, We could smell a smoky smell on our clothes (I WONDER HOW THOSE PEOPLE SURVIVE INSIDE, is an indoor charcoal bbq. OMG) [I will never eat Korean BBQ in my whole life.]

Finally we ran out of the place to save ourselves. Finally we are back to humanity and Singapore air never felt fresher.

We went back to Waruku. And the staff escorted us into the restuarant my mum was like.. FINALLY!!!!

Their Customer Service was so good until we felt scared. The mananger sincerely apologized to us (We never even book the place to start with) And gave us $10 discount coupons. Not long after that, we were presented with 4 glasses of orange juice. The manager said “Sorry for the long wait. We will give you another 4 glasses of orange juice.

For the verbal apology, the customer service is already said as high standard. Some restaurants don’t even bother to respond to you or even ask you to shut up if you are complaining. Not to say giving gifts,(Which i would say, the customer service is “upgraded” to heavenly.) I would expect such good customer service form a Japanese store.

Ok! The Customer Service is not limited to making the customers happy after a long wait outside the restaurant. Beside me was a couple. They just ordered their food, then, after a FEW minutes, a waiter approached their table and said, “I see that you have not been served. May I check for you?” I was like. WOW WOW WOW!!!!. And it seems like they are trained to smile or sth. Is not even fake. Or maybe they are really happy with their job.

The Restaurant has 2 Tatami Mat Private Rooms and a Public Tatami mat room. Most of the seats are modern chairs though (Those two rooms can only fit in a few guests. And im not the lucky one.)

OKOKOKOK enough on the description. You guys must be “Hungry” about what i ate. haha.

OKOK I admit that i took my photo too late. But you see the thing. The Beef takes some time to cook(It is raw. and btw, for those of you who dun eat beef, you can opt for chicken).

So i ate the noddles (Right) and the photo salad.) The centre is a bowl full of egg yolk. It is poured into the Beef pot.

See the Beef Pot, close up.

My Family members ate different set meals. (Post Later)

WAIT FOR PART 2 MINNA!!!!
