Reformat = Good Solution?

The latest trend among people who are new to facing viruses in this every complicated world is that,
when “search & destroy” fails or feel that their antivirus software is inferior they will go

“O!@#%$^#!!! I GOT….A VIRUS!!!! ONE SOLUTION!! REFORMAT!!!!”

Especially when it comes to small time MSN viruses like,

HEY? is that you?
IamMrReformat wants to send you “Hahaha!now_you_have_to_reformat.jpg.”

Now, this internet myth is not true. In fact, reformat just harms your disk.
#1: Come on! Unless is a super virus like WormBuster or whatever,
Reformat is a stupid waste of time AND resources
#2: It wipes out your whole disk, do you want to transfer ALL your things to either DVD
or Harddisk just because of a “Photoalbum” virus
#3: What a waste. Now you have to install everything back

CONCULSION
If you reformat because of these viruses,

I have something to say.

The (MSN or whatever) Virus is not a virus anymore. YOU ARE THE VIRUS WHICH WIPES OUT YOUR WHOLE COM!!!!!

Now, don’t be mistaken. I am not trying to laugh at all these people. If you have already done so, learn from this post and not it again.

SOLUTIONS!
Now, you want to know how to get the solutions eh,

#1: Buy an antivirus.
I tell you what. If you think antivirus are so expensive, Think again!
Antivirus can cost as less as $30 for one year.
Think about it, for those of you who in Singapore, 15 plates of Chicken Rice = One Year of Norton Antivirus 2008 (Read my previous posts for the review of Norton)

#2: Get A FREE ONE
However, as i always say, you get every you pay(If you can get a good source!)
That being said, unless you are a super miser who wants to save $30 to protect your $1000~$2000 Computer,
Go ahead! Get a free one.

Im not critizing free software. But is good if you are still unsure of whether to get a antivirus.

#3: Source for solutions!
This is good if you know what you are doing. Be prepared, some things my even ask you to change your core registry

#4: Only applies if you have a antivirus.
If you are IT Smart, You can even delete the virus yourself if your antivirus doesnt do a clean job(Although it often does nowadays.)
The Antivirus locates the virus, YOU, smash the virus.

With that said, good luck and don’t use reformating unless it is a super huge virus.
